Take advantage of the opportunity this season provides for sellers! Check out these four steps to help you maximize the potential your home has...
Start With a Clean Slate
A seller should never forget the importance of tidy, clean home when starting to show. Give your home the chance to look its best, and start with a thorough declutter and deep clean! Dust the fans, clean the baseboards, find those nooks and crannies that haven't been cleaned in years and make them sparkle and shine! If the house doesn't feel clean, no amount of pumpkin spice can convince the buyer this is their home-to-be!
Create a Cozy Atmosphere
Warm accent colors are a great touch in the fall months. Hints of these colors throughout your home will help your buyer feel cozy and welcome! Try adorning your couch with cozy blankets and beautiful pillows to call out the comfort seeking side of your buyer. Fall smells also never hurt! You can light a candle, defuse some oil, or bake some cookies to leave your house smelling cozy and inviting! Common fall scents include hot apple cider, pumpkin, spiced orange and cinnamon, campfire and wood.
Show the Season in Your Yard!
The front porch is what most people will first notice. Like any first impression, you want to focus on wowing your potential buyers from the get-go! Create a warm, inviting porch using seating, decor, a rug, or a wreath. If you don't have anything on hand, try checking our the nearest thrift store!
Make it Bright!
Allow the maximum amount of light to come in! Open those curtains, pull up the blinds, and let your house shine! This is always a good idea for showings, but especially in the winter months when the sun is out less. Many people dread leaving long summer days behind, and they want their homes to be vibrant, illuminated escapes from the darkness. If no natural light is available, use lamps and other artificial lights.
