HOW TO SELECT THE BEST HOME FOR YOU
You get to choose when you choose.
It is up to you how long you need and how fast you want to move.

You get to choose how you choose.
It is up to you what details you focus on and what advice you consider.
You get to choose what you choose.
It is up to you to choose the home you want to live in and own.
AVOID THE COMMON PITFALLS
TRYING TO REMEMBER ALL THE DETAILS
You could burn a lot of time and energy trying to remember and rate all the features, strengths, and weaknesses of every home, but the details only matter for the home you choose.

Don’t wear yourself out over data and details that don’t help you choose.
FORMING A FANTASY FROM THE BEST PARTS
You will see some homes with memorable features, and it would be great if you could make one ideal home out of your favorite elements from several, but you wouldn’t be able to afford it even if you could find it.

Focus instead on finding the best overall home, and keep those great features and ideas in mind for improving it once you buy.
WAITING TO FIND A PERFECT HOME
There are no perfect homes (except for the one God is preparing for you in heaven).
No single home you can buy is going to ideally fit every need and desire you have, so be at peace with choosing a home that at least mostly meets most of them.

The homes available now are similar to all the homes that would potentially be in this price range, so the one that is “so much better than all of these” is probably not coming.
FOCUS ON THE GOAL
KEEP A RUNNING TOP THREE
As leave each house, ask yourself, “if i had to choose right now, would this be my first choice? Second? Third?”

If it is in the top three, which home did it bump down (off) the list?

Forget about the homes that aren’t in your top three—even if they had a great feature you really liked—because you won’t be buying them.
SEE ENOUGH, BUT NOT TOO MANY
To feel comfortable choosing a home you love, you’ll want to have an idea how it compares with other options.

If you love one of the first homes you see, we can choose it, but you may still want to see a few more to test and confirm your choice.

If you have seen ten or more, and you don’t like anything, we probably need to change your price range or revise your expectations.
CHOOSE IN TIME TO GET MOVED
We might need to offer on several homes before you secure one.

Once you have a contract, we will need at least a month to investigate, prepare your loan, and close so you can move.
TO BREAK A TIE, GO LOOK AGAIN
If you don’t have a clear first choice, let’s go back again to your top two or three and spend a little longer at each one.
CONFIRM THE ESSENTIALS

Does this home seem to meet your needs for the foreseeable future?

Does it make you feel happy and hopeful?

Are you together on this?
Do your trusted advisors agree?
BE OKAY WITH UNANSWERED QUESTIONS
We will have time to answer all your questions about this home once we get the sellers to agree to sell it to you.

You can move forward with confidence, because we can walk away without penalty if you don’t like the answers we find.

If you wait to make your offer until all your questions are answered, someone else may secure it first, and you may never get the chance.
THIS ISN’T FOR FOREVER

This is an important choice, and you have done your best to choose wisely.

You can turn this good house into a great home.

No matter how good this home is, the feeling that “there must be something more and better out there for me” is very normal.

Even if you stay here for years or decades, your heart knows that any earthly home is temporary, and it longs for the perfect place God is making for you in heaven.
The only place your heart can find joyful rest is in God’s perfect love and plans for you.
